ANTI-ASIATIC LEGISLATION.
CANADA'S RESTRICTIONS. Received July 12, 10.10 p.m. OTTAWA, July 12. While Canada's poll tax of £IOO on coolies is retained the restrictions applicable to students and sons of Chinese merchants have been modified, and are now less onerous. Students possessing liberal education, and desiring to pursue a higher course of education at a Canadian University or college are exempt from the poll tax.
