THE FINANCIAL POSITION. VARIOUS TAXATION BILLS PASSED. 1 Received July 12, 9.45 p.m. BERLIN, July 12. Herr Hollweg, speaking in the Reichstag, declared that the federated Governments considered that the necessity of placing the Imperial finances on a sound basis outweighted the defects, which they were obliged to take with the bargain which had been made. The House passed various taxation bills. At the third reading stages the speakers of most of the Parties paid a sympathetic tribute to the retiring Chancellor (Prince von Bulow). The Social Democrats declared that Germany was moving in the direction of fimncial col)ap3e unless the expenditure on the Army and Navy was restricted. The National Liberal. o , commenting on the Prussian Poles adhesion to the new majority, emphasised that the Poles desire to b* rid of Prince von Bulow. The Radical People's P.»rty eulogised Prince von Bulow aa a constitutional statesman.
