DIOCESAN SYNOD.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 9. At the Diocesan Synod, Mr W. A. Izard (Wanganui) moved: "That in the opinion of this Synod the time has now come when the question of providing fresh church accommodation in the parish of Christ Church Wanganui should be considered, and with a view thereto that this Synod direct the diocesan trustees to utilise part of their church acre situated in Victoria Avenue for revenue producting purposes."

After debate the motion was declared carried on the voices by both clergy and laity, but was vetoed by tJishop Wallis, who said it gave him very great pain to take such a step. The supporters, however, could appeal to the General Synod. A resolution was passed agreeing; to contribute for the year ending!; March, 1910, the sum of £lO5. toi the Maori Mission Board.
