EFFECT OF A TARIFF.
AMERICAN CAPITAL INVESTED IN CANADA. Received July 7, 8.40 a.m. NEW YORK, July 6. An American consular report states that the Canadian tariff has resulted in one hundred and fifty American firms putting plant valued at 175 miilion dollars (£35,000,000 into Canada, including agricultural and shoemaking machinery and sawmills.
