WEDDING.
SPACKMAN—HODD. A quiet but pretty wedding took place yesterday afternoon, at the residence of Mr Geo. Gray, Wrigley street, the contracting parties being Mr Robert Spackman, the wellknown footballer, and Miss Ethel nnod, second daughter of Mr David Hood, of the Government Railways. The bride looked charming in a dress of cream voile with lace and insertions, and carried an ivory bound prayer book, the gift of the bridesmaid. Miss Marjorie Gray, nijce of the bridegroom, acted as bridesmaid, and was prettily dressed in white silk with hat to match. Mr L. Spack- I man acted as best man. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold watch and chain, and to the bridesmaiud a Nellie Stewart bangle. 1 The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a set of gold sleeve links. The Rev. Thompson was the officiating clergyman. Mr and Mrs Spackman, who were the recipients of a large number of valuable presents, left for tneir honeymooi), which is to be spent in Auckland and Rotorua, by the afternoon train for the North, and carry with them the best wishes of their numerous friends. The bride's travelling dress was a tailor-made navy blue costume.
