WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Measra Levin and Company, Limited, report as follows regarding Friday's sale: — We offered 60 bales of wool, 2,500 skins, 400 hides and calfskins and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers. Wool. —The Ar.t- ---' werp sales have opened at a decline | which had the effect of causing buyers to operate with caution and prices were easier for wool and skins. We quote: fleece, 5d to 7£d; lambs, 6d to 7Jd; superior crutchings, 5d to sfd, medium, 4d to 4|d, inferior, 3d to 4d; pieces and bellies, 2d to 4d; locks, l|d to 3d. Skins:--Prices did not reach last sale's level by a farthing to a halfpenny. Green skins fell 4d to 6d each. We quote: Fine crossbred, 7d to7£d; crossbreds, 6dto6£d; dead skins, 3d to s£d; dead hoggets, 4d to s|d; short WOOI3, 4d to sd; dry pelts, 2£d to 42d: green skins, 4s to 6s; lambs skins, 3s to 4s 6d; lamb pelts. Is 6d to 2s lOd. Tallow.— Firm. Parcels m shipping order £23 10s; tins, £lB to £2O 10s, rough fat £lO to £ls. Horsehair.—ls to Is 4d per lb. Horns.— 5s to 16s per hundred. Cowtails.—ls 3d to Is lOd per dozen. Hides.—ln sympathy with Australian markets fell Jd to 1 idCalf advanced a halfpenny. We quote: Ox hides, heavy, 6d to 6&d, medium, s|d to 6§d, light, 5d to s§d; cow hidss, 5d to s&d; cut and slippy hides, 2d to sd; stag hides, 2£d to 4gd; bull bides, 2d to 4§d; yearlings, 5d to 6d; calf, best, 7&d to 9Jd, medium, 5d to 7d, cut and slippy, 3d # to sd. .Our next sale will be held on' Friday, 16th July, 1909.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows The sales were well attendeud by buyers and bidding was brisk, but at a lower range of prices, for crutchings. We estimate that prices for crutchings are lower by Jd to Jd per lb, due partly to adverse reports cabled concerning the Antwerp sales and to limits for buying orders being reduced. Sheepskins sold well but at slightly lower rates than last sale. Hides were rather easier. Calfskins sold up to 9d per lb. We quote:—Wool: Crossbred fleeces, 6Jd to 7d; crossbred inferior and seedy, 4£d to 6d; lambs, medium, 6£d to 6Jd; crutchings, good, 4|d tc 5Jd; crutchings, seedy and inferior, 3Jd, to 4Jd; locks and pieces, 2£d to 4Jd. Sheepskins :j Crossbred fine, 7id; coarse, s£d to 7d; lambskins, 6£d to 7d; dead and faulty, 3d to 5Jd: damaged pelts, Id to 3d; good pelts, 4d to 4fd; salted and damp skins, 2s lOd to 5s Bd. Hides: Ox, medium, 5Jd to 6d; light ox and cow, 4Jdtosd; yearlings, 5Jd to s|d; faulty hides, 2d to 4|d; caif, sound, B|d to 9Jd, damaged, 4d to 6§d. Tallow : In tins LBs 6d to 21s 9d per cwt. Horsehair: Is 5d to Is 5Jd per lb.

Hides: Prices on a par with last sale. No prime heavies offered. Calf skins realised up to 9fd.
