CHARGE OF SHOOTING.

ACCUSED'ACQUITTED. LONDON, July 2. At the Meath Assizes John Edtn Savile, an Australian residing at Stamford, Lincolnshire was acquitted on the charge of feloniously shooting at Charles Uniacke. of Dunboyne. I ( A recent cablegram stated that a quarrel .arose owing to certain libellous statements made by Savile about Mrs Uniacke. Savile presented a revolver at Uniacke, and a struggle then took place, during which the weapon was discharged. Thereupon Savile was compelled to sign a confession withdrawing his statements and making an apjlogy.
