NATIONAL DEFENCE LEAGUE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, July 3. At a meeting of the local branch of the National Defence League, last evening, it was announced that the championship rifle belt, and gold medal for the winner of the team shield, and a gold medal for each of the winning team, had been decided upon. These are op'en to be fired for annually by primary school boys throughout New Zealand, up to and including Standard G. The trophies s lected are most handsome, and equal to anything of the kind ever provided in the past by senior rifle associations. The expenses of the local branch for the ensuing twelve months will be at least £250, the whole of which will be provided by the citizens of Wanganui.
