THE POLICE COMMISSION.
Dissatisfaction is expressed with the order of reference in connectoin with the Police Commission. The somewhat remarkable limitation contained in one clause is already the subject of adverse comment. This clause reads as follows: —''Provided that no inquiry shall be held by you into any matter or thing which has already been investigated and determined before any judicial or other lawfully constituted tribunal, or where any the police force has been dismissed from the service or whosa services have been dispensed wilb in consequence of his misconduct or for any other reason." This limitation, will, of course, prevent the "full inquiry" that was promised. In some quarters it is considered a pity that the order of reference was not made wider.
