By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 2. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' general weather forecast:— Easterly winds, freshening strong to gale, are probable north of East Caps and Kawhia, with heavy rain ■hortly. Light and variable winds will probably prevail elsewhere for about 18 hours, with fair weather, after which increasing northerlies are expected. The barometer will probably fall in the extreme north first and slowly elsewherp. soon. Mr J. C. Boddington reports as fol-lows:—-The rainfall on the Upper Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. I on Wednesday was 2 points, and for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Thursday 5 points. Rain fell on 16 days in June, the maximum fall registered in 24 hours being 21 points on 15th and 16th, and 20 points on 17th and 23rd. The minimum was on Bth, 27th, 28th and 30th. The total for the month 1.51 inches, as against 4.93, 9.36, 3.08, 5.36 and 1.94 inches in June 1904, 1905, 1906, 1907 and 1908. The total for six months is 17.85 inches, as against 20.41, 24.21, 23.41, 35.15 and 14,56, inches for corresponding period in 1904, 1905, 1906, 1907 and 1908. It will be seen that the rainfall for the month, and also for the past six very much under the average for"the previous five years, the figures for which being 4.93 inches, and 23.55 inches respectively. Mr H. G. Groves, Bush Grove, report as follows:—The rainfall for the month was 1.02 points. The maximum fall was .19 point r on 17th inst. Rain fell on 14 days. The maximum temperature for the month was 65 on 28th, and the minimum was 27 on 24th. The rainfall for June 1908 was 2,l3jpoints„
