STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report havintr held their usual fortnightly auctJdn salejat their Waipoua yards yesterday, when they offered only a limited number of sheep and an exceptionally good yarding of cattle. The sheep comprised principally ewes in lamb, which were well competed for by the large number of buyers present. Cattle were represented by all classes, and competition was brisk throughout, and practically the whole yarding was cleared. On account of Messrs Wall and Lord they offered a very nice line of bullocks, which brought £5 10s, and the tops out of same line reached the high price of £6 133 6d. They quote as follows:-—Sheep.—Two, 4, 6 and f.m. ewes in lamb to Romney Vams, 9ar, y 9s 6d, to 10s '3d; s.m. ewes in lamb to Shropshire rama up to 12m;, fat and forward ewes,- 8s 6d to 10s 6d. Cattle.—Three and a-half to 4 year old steer* from £4 10a to £6 17s 6d; 2 year, off steers, £3 2s to £4 2s; 18taonth steers, £2 10s to, £3 Is; mother reared weaners, 22s"to 28s; fat and forward cows and heifers, £4; 2 year empty heifers, £2 17s; cows in calf, £2 5s to £3 10s; springing heifers, £3 10s to £4 4s.
