DISTRICT NURSE FUND.

SOCIAL AND DANCE.

A social and dance in aid of the District Nurse Fund in connection with the St. John Ambulance Brigade will be held in the Drill Hall, this evening. Energetic committees composed of ladies and gentlemen have had the arrangements for the function in hand for some time past, and have spared no effort to make it a success. The object is a most deserving one, and consequently the dance is sure to be well patronised.

The decorations will be on an elaborate scale, and no time or expense haa been spared in this direction. Evergreens, mirrora and silver St. John Ambulance crosses on black shields are hung all round the hall, and together with the beautifully coloured flag 3 make a delightful picture. Energetic workers have been busy for some days past specially preparing the floor, and it is now in good order. Messrs Inns' and..Goidard's Orchestra of six first-class p)ayera have been engaged, and so patrons will have the best of music. The supper will be provided by the ladies' committee, and will be a feature of the dance.

.During the evening th-3 certificates earned by members of the Brigade will be presented by Mr A. W. Hogg, ■M.'P.
