STOCK MARKET.
Messrs and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having held a highly successful clearing sale, on account of Mr E. C. Bensemahn, ot Taonui, Feilding, on Saturday, the 26th instant, when they offered the whole of his Ayrshire herd, comprising 80 odd head. In spite of the extremely rough I weather there was a very large attendance, buyers being present from as far south as Blenheim, and from as far north as Cambridge in the Waikatu. The competition was ecxeptionally keen for the cows and heifers, but bulls were not in such good demand. Quotations: —Cows: £6 10a. £B, £8 10s, £9 10s, £lO 10s, £ll, £l2, £l3 13s, £l6 16s to 38 guineas, the latter price being paid for a young cow bred by Mr S. W. L'uxford. Two-year-old heifers, £4 15s, £5 10s, £7, £9 5s to £ls 15s. Yearling heifers, £2 15s, £3 2s 6d, £3 7s 6d. £4 2s 6d, £4 15s to £l3. Bulls, £2 10s, £3 3s, £3 15s, £4 2s 6d, £4 15s to £6. Yearling bulls, £1 9s, £1 10s, £2 5s to £2 12s 6d. Sows in pig, £3 15s, £4 to £4 15s. A quantity of sundries sold at late rates.
