THE NAVY LEAGUE.

There was a fair attendance 'at the annual meeting of the Wellington branch of the Navy League this afternoon.
The Hon. T. W. Rislop, President, said that the finances of the branch, though not strong, were satisfactory. Since last meeting there had been a great de\ eop nent regarding the nece. c sity for upholding the supremacy of the British Navy. The New Zealand of a Dreadnought had met with a 'rsarty response(.and the almost unanimous approval of the peoph of the Dominion. Mr W. Fraser, M.P., said that the N.ivy League was educative. Its ob.j--c; wa.j to kenp plodding at the Government, to keep it alert to the necessity for keeping the Navy efficient. No doubt the JSlavy League at Home had had a good effect in that direction, but it faded into insignificance before what the German Navy League had done and was doing.
