PERSONAL.

Mrs Perry, aged 63, an old resident of Levin, died at the Otaki Hospital on Saturday last.

Miss Minnie Haii bar, been transferred from Johnsonville School to the teaching staff of the Masterton School, and took up her duties last Monday. Mr George Gibson, a very old and respected resident of Westland, died the other day, the "Westport Times" reports, at the age of 74 years. Mr Gibson had res'ded for many years on his farm. Cape Foulwind, where i he had reared a large family. ' At Wellington last week, Mr J. Bou3tead, second son of Mr W. Bou stead, of Alfredton, was married to Miss McGregor, stepdaughter of Mr J. Boustead. Misses Margaret Boustead and Mary Boustead were bridesmaids, and Mr C. Boustead was best man. HHi Mr R. Williams, of the staff of the Masterton Post Office, has received notice that he is to be transferred to Nelson, and will probably leave for that place this week. Mr Williams has been on the local Post Office staff for several years past, and has proved himself a courteous and capable officer, and a smart and painstaking telegraphist, always turning out first-class "copy." The news Jthat Mr W. P. James.. the popular Magistrate at Masterton, was seized with a serious heart seizure on Sunday will be learnt "of with extreme regret by a host of friends. Mr James was out for a walk, and became so bad that he had to be taken home . immediately. Last evening he was still in a weak state, and it will be some time before he will be able to resume h\s duties.

The many friends of Mr and Mrs G. Phill p3, of Masterton, will regret to hear of the death of their eldest son, Mr James Phillips, which occurred at -Masterton on Sunday night, at 11 o'clock. The deceased, who was well-known throughout the Wairarapa, was 44 yearj of age, and had only been ill a few days, lung trouble causing his death. Mr and Mrs Phillips will have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their bereavement. The funeral will take place to-morrow at 2 p.m.
