TOUR OF THE AUSTRALIAN S. MATCH AGAINST COMBINED TEAM. Received June 27, 5 p.m. LONDON, June 26, The Australians commenced a match against a combined Yorkshire and Lancashire team. The weather wag gloomy after a bright morning, and the wtcket was soft, but not treacherous. Noble won the toss. The first wicket (Bardsley) wss down for a single run. Armstrong was missed before he had scored, and again when he had made 9. He gave a chance at 25, and another at 92. The scoring was slow. The Victorian, getting in good drives, played veYy steady, and compiled his score in 225 minutes. He hit nine fourers. 'fhe second wicket fell at 25. The partnership between Ransford and Armstrong was a useful .one, the third wicket falling at 136. The other wicker fell smartly till the sixth wicket was taken for 157.: Carter then became partnered with Armstrong, and the pair . remained together till the innings was declared closed.
