STATE-OWNED CABLES, A CANADIAN RESOLUTION. (Jolted Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received June 27, sD.cn. LONDON, June 26. At the Press Conference the Canadian delegates proposed a resolution favouring a SNte-owned system of electric communication between India and Canada to Vancouver, thus completing the State service between England and Canada to Mr Fenwick (New Zealand) strongly supported the propo?ai. He claimed that the Pacific cable was already a great success, but it would never be a complete success till State owneship was established to England. Messrs Lukin (New Zealand), Cohen (New Zealand), Fink and Ternperley also supported the motion. Some of the Australian delegates questioned the priority of State competition unless existing interests were fairly treated The motion was carried.
