METEOROLOGICAL.

The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' general weather forecast:— Cloudy and wet weather probable generally with heavy rain on the West' Coast, increased westerly wind* north of New Plymouth and Napier, and northerly strong to gale elsewhere; barometer falling smartly in the southern districts, but probably rising everywhere after twenty hours.
Mr J. C. Boddingtor reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Friday was 3 points.
