BREACHES OF THE BANKRUPTCY ACT.

At the Supreme Court, to-day, John Jair.es Patterson, solicitor, of Dannevirke, was found guilty of breaches of the Bankruptcy Act, in hat he had failed to keep proper books of accounts; had failed to deliver certain books, etc., to the Deputy Official Assignee, and had mutilated a certain book. Accused had been engaged in a storekeeping and sawmilling business in addition to the legal practice.

Mr Justice Chapman said he would taken into consideration the position which accused had held, and his advancing years, and sentenced him to two months' imprisonment without hard labour.
