CANADA AND DEFENCE MATTERS.
Ryeeivod June 23, 11 p.m . OTTAWA, June 23. . The Hon, L. P, Brodeur, replying to' a deputation at Montreal, said that 1)2 had received three proposals in reference to defence, viz., Canada might offer two Dreadnoughts to Britain; she might contribute an annual round sum or establish a Canadian naval militia. The latter was most favoured by the Canadian Government, and the Opposition supported this proposal. He added that if only one dry dock was built Quebec was the best location.
