UNEMPLOYED IN AUCKLAND.
AN APPEAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 21. The Mayor telegraphed to the Acting Premier to-day:—"Anotherdepu-tation waited on me this morning with the names of 180 persons wanting work, and representing that many were on the verge of destitution, and that urgent measures were necessary for their relief. The meu are earnestly desirous to work. I estimate the number of unemployed at from five to seven hundred. Can the men be engaged for the north Main Trunk railway now that the route has been decided nut"
