NEW YORK CRIME.
GHASTLY DISCOVERY,
BODY FOUND IN A TRUNK. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received June 21, 9 a.m. NEW YORK, June 20.
The body of Elsie Sigel, aged 22, who was engaged in missionary and Sunday School work in Chinatown, NewTork, has been found in a trunk in*a room over a Chinese restaurant, which was occupied by a Chinaman. It is supposed that the murderer started for Vancouver, via Colon, on the 11th inst.
Elsie Sigel was a granddaughter of the famous General Sigel, who was victorious at Carthage, during the American Civil War.
General Sigel, with fifteen hundred Federal troops, defeated a Confederate force numbering three thousand five hundred, under Governor Jackson, near Carthage, Missouri, on July sth, 1861.
