METHODIST CHURCH.

YESTERDAY'S SERVICES.

Large congregations attendad yesterday at both morning and evening services in the Methodist Church, when the Rev. C. E. Porter preached on both occasions. In the morning he gave a short s-jrmonette to the children on "The Bible as a Searchlight." In his sermon to the adults members of the congregation Mr Porter dealt with "Burning and Shining." In the evening Mr Porter took for his subject "The Judgment— a Present Fact and a Future Experience." A very appropriate anthem was rendered by the choir in the evening, "Seek ye the Lord," which included a soJo by Mrs A. K. Daniell, in her u&ual charming manner. The attendance at the Sunday School in the afternoon was also very large. The school is now growing rapidly in strength, and numbers, ' yesterday's attendance being 241 \ scholars out of a total of 270 on the roll. There was also a good attendance of the Young Men's Class yesterday afternoon, their being 21 members i present. The subject of the afternoon was a study on the ilfe of Christ. Mr E. R. Wilson occupied the chair. There was an attendance of 25 young ladies at the Young Women's Bible Class, Mr J. A. Donald occupying the chair. The subject for discussion was a paper by Miss E. Kyle. __ „
