ACTIVITY AT KRUPP'S.
BRITISH ADMIRALTY WARNED YEARS AGO.
Received June 18, 9.35 p.m. LONDON, June 18. The "Standard," from an authoritative source, quotes a letter dated 11th May, 1906, informing the Admiralty of tfce fact that enormous expenditure was in progress at Krupp'a nival yards for the purpose of manufacturing large naval guns and mountings quickly. The letter stated that these extensions would give possibility an output far in excess of the whole capacity of Britain. The scheme must be either for immense future requirements for Germany or Krupp's meant to secure the whole of the armament trade of the world outside the few great' Powers who build for themselves. Received June 18, 11.5 p.m. LONDON, June 18
In the House of Commons, the Hon. R. McKenna, First Lord of the Admiralty, in reply to Mr J. T. Middlemore, said that the Admiralty early in 1906 were first aware that Krupp's works were being extended, and the expansion of progress had been continuing ever since.
