STOCK MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report of their EketaHuna stock sale, held yesterday, as follows There was°a in both sheep and cattle, and brisk throughout, showing an improved market for all lines. An absolute clearance of every lot was made under the hammer. All sheep showed an advance of from 6d to Is a head. Fat and store cattle, dairy cows, and young stock sold at fully or beyond recent market rates.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their fortnightly sale at Eketahuna, yesterday Entries came in up to advertised numbers, and sold freely under the hammer. We submitted a fair entry of both sheep and cattle, and have to report a total clearance. We quote: —Lambs from 5s lOd, 6s 6d, 7s lOd, 8s to 9s Id; 2 and 4-tooth wethers 10s 9d, lis, lis 9d to 13s; ewes in lamb, poor, 7s 6d, better sorts to 12s 2d. Cattle: Mixed yearlings, 325; 18 to "20-months steers, £2 17s; speyed heifers, £3 2s to £4 6s; 2year heifers in calf, poor, £2 2s; 3year steers, £4 ss; springers, £4 10s, £5 to £5 ss; store cows, 355.
