Mrs A. T. Hancock, who has been seriously ill, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery, writes our Tinui correspondent. Mrs Stillborn, of Barton Fields, Tinui, is last recovering her health since having been removed from Tinui to Masterton,

The friends of Miss Gill, daughter of Mr J. Gill, of West Bush Road, who has been seriously ill with rheumatic fever, will be pleased to hear that she is making satisfactory progress towards convalescence.

The friends of Pastor Ries, Mayor of Dannevirke, will regret to hear that he is in a precarious state of health, and has been compelled to obtain six months' leave of absence from the Council. It is Pastor Ries' intention to take a trip for the benefit of his health.

It is understood that Major J. G. Hughes, D.5.0., recently appointed district adjutant at Nelson, has been offered an appointment in England. A private cable message from Sydney announces the fact that he has sailed from that purt for London.

Mother Bridget, of St. Bride's Convent, Masterton, who has been seriously ill in Auckland for some time past, underwent an operatiun in the Mater Hospital yesterday. Her many friends will be pleased to hear that the operation was very successful, and that she is progressing as well as can he expected under the circumstances.
