THE DAVIS CUP. .„ ENGLISH ASSOCIATION'S PAR- ' SIMONY. Received June LONDON, June 15. The newspapers are commenting on the parsimony of the English Lawn Tennis Associations in deciding that it is unable to guarantee the expenses of an American team to visit England to contest tho preliminary for the Davis Cup. but is willing to send a team to Philadelphia if £4OO is guaranteed.
NEW ZEALAND'S CLAIMS
DECISION OF THE VICTORIAN ASSOCIATION.
Received June 16, 10.55 a.m. MELBOURNE, June 16. The Victorian Tennis Association, after debating the proposals in connection with the Davis Cup contest, agreed to the following terms : That the Committee of Management consist of four Australians and two New Zealanders, with headquarters in Australia. That after the next Davis Cup match at Sydney the following contest be in New Zealand. In the event of the determination of the agreement, any unexpended funds from Davis Cup competitions to be divided, two-thirds going to the Australian Association, and one-third to the New Zealand Association.
