Mr John Redmond, Leader of the Irish Nationalists, in the debate on the Finance Bill, said the Budget proposals were bad, unjust and oppressive. Old age pensions, he declared, were certainly a benefit to Ireland to the extent of two and ahalf millions, but he maintained that the money could have been spent witn greater benefit to Ireland by increasing transport facilities and promoting the gensral development of the country. The Nationalists have decided to vote against the second reading of the Bill.
