METEOROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington; June 9. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather forecast:—General easterly winds freshening to a gale with heavy rain are probable north of East Cape, Taupo and Raglan ,f or a cyclonic movement due shortly; it may extend over the North Island, and also affect the East Coast of the South Island after 36 hours, as the pressure is weakening everywhere; westerly winds' moderate to strong are probable in the meantime'over the South Island, but there are indications that the glass will rot fall so much in the south as in northern parts; changeable weather expected generally.
Mr J. C. Bnddingtoh reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Tuesday was 2 points and for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Wednesday 8 points.
