THE BEEF TRUST.

OPERATIONS IN AUSTRALIA. "CATTLE KING'S" VIEWS. UnifcediPress Association—By Electric Tolograph Cop Received Jane 8, 10.30 a.m. SYDNEY. June 8. Mr Arthur Kidmdn, the well-known "Cattle King," states that when he was in London last October, he talked over with Armour's, the American meat firm, the question of extending the Beef Trust to Aus tralia. The idea, however, was pooh-poohed, and it may still be-pooh-poohed.

In Mr Kidman's opinion, all talk of the Trust operating in Australia is ridiculous nonsense. It would be a good thing if the Trust did make a purchase of meat in Australia, for that was all it would do. There was, however, no prospect of its extending its operations here.
