WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin anJ Company, Limited, report as fol'ows regarding Friday's sale:—We offered 65 bales wool, 2,500 skins, 700 hides and calfskins and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers and bidding was very spirited for everything offering. Wool.—Crutchings are coming forward freely and meet with strong demand. Prices for this class advanced a farthing to day. We quote: Crossbred fleece, 5d to 7|d; lambs, ssdto7Jd; superior crutchings, 5d to s£d; medium crutchings, 4d to4fd; inferior, 3d to 4d; pieces and bellies, 2d to 4d; locks, l£d to 3d. Skins.— Market very strong at last sale prices. We quote: Fine crossbreds, 6d to 7|d; crossbreds, s£dto6|d; dead skins, 3d to 5Jd; dead hoggets, 4d to 6d; gree.'i skins 3s to 5s 2d; lamb skins 3s to 3s 8d; lamb pelts, Is 6d to 2s 9d. Tallow.—Firm. Parcels in shipping order, £24; tin?, £lB to £2O 10s; rough fat, £lO to £ls. Horsehair.—ls to Is 4d per lb. Horns.—ss to 16s per hundred. Cowtails.— Is 3d to Is lCd per dozen. Hides. —Steady. Our next sale will be held on Friday, June 18th, 1909. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:---We ottered a fair sized catalogue of wool, skins, hides, and tallow. Buyers were well represented and prices realised were quite up to last sales:—We quote: Wool: Crossbred, clean, 6Jd to 7£d, inferior and seedy, 4£d to s|d; lambs, good, 6Jd tos7£d; inferior and seedy, 4Jd to6d; crutchings, good, 5d to 5Jd, seedy, 3£dto4ld; locks and pieces, l£d to 3£d. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly sale of wool, skins, and hides on Friday last, when they offered a good catalogue of all classes to a large attendance of buyers.
