CASTLEPOINT COUNTY.
■ The ordinary meeting of the Castlepoint County Council was held on Saturday last, all the members being present. A letter was received from the District Hospital Board demanding the first quarterly contribution of £37 13s 7d. "The Commissioner Lands wrote stating that the tenders for the loase of the Castlepoint Landing Keserve were being considered. Mr W. Dalziell applied for a refund of 25s impounding fees, which request was not fentertained. Mr J. O'Connor wrote applying for permission to erect a fence between the creek and the road Durrow's creek on the Whakataki section. It was resolved that the overseer examine the locality and report to the next meeting on the matter. The alteration of»ridings as suggested by the Committeee appointed to arrange the boundaries were agreed to; t'nejnumbei} of ridings to be four, with two Councillors to each riding, except the North, and one Councillor for the latter riding. The clerk was directed to go over the track from Castlepoint to Otahome with Mr Andrews to ascertain the nature of the work applied for. The Council decided to support the proposed amendment to the Local Bodies' Loan Act, in accordance with a resolution of the Clifton County Council; and that Mr Barton be requested to examine the road through the lea Estate and report thereon; and that the Whareama Bridge be thoroughly overhauled. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £433 8s 2d. Accounts amounting to £231 8s 2d were passed for payment.
