UNIVERSAL MILITARY TRAINING.
AUSTRALIA'S EXAMPLE. Received June 3, 9.37 p.m. LONDON, June 3. Lord Roberts has written to Colonel Unsworth, of the Salvation Army regarding Mr A. Doakin's suggestion that he should visit Australia. Lord Roberts declared that he would be delighted to see the country and "meet many of the gallant fellows who fought under me in South Africa. I recognise the value of the Australian example of readiness to accept universal military training. Because England is not educated to this necesssity I must remain at Home to continue my efforts ar.d urge the Australian example."
