THE WHITE PLAGUE.

CRUSADE IN ENGLAND. TUBERCULOSIS EXHIBITION. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received June 3, 9.37 p.m. LONDON, June 3. The Hon. John Burns, yesterday, opened the Tuberculosis Exhibition at Whitechapel, intended to illustrate the mehods of preventing disease and minimising its efforts where it exists. Mr Burns claimed that Britain led the crusade against tuberculosis, remarking that the direct remedies were higher wages, less drink, less betting and more regular work. Mr Burns added: "Open windows would stamp out consumption in a generation." A number of suffragettes were ejected for persistently interrupting Mr Burns.
