WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION. ' i SATURDAY'S MATCHES. The Wairarapa Rugby Union were again favoured with splendid weather for their Championship fixtures on Saturday last, and the grounds Were in good order. Both in the Senior and Junior contests some fine football was witnessed. In the Senior matches there was a keen interest taken, as it was generally anticipated that the newly formed Gladstone team would put up a good fight against Carterton, and followers of the game
were curious to know what sort of a team Lower Valley Had, as it Was considered Red Star would put them on their mettle. In the former match Gladstone put up such a, grand fight that a draw resulted,; whJk,Eed Star had no n difficulty in defeating Lower Valley.
