A court martial has acquitted sixty-three officers and thirty-seven civilians charged with complicity in the late Sultan's reactionary movement. Five hadjls have been sentenced to death, also the eunuch Djevher Agha, Tewfik Bey, of the Customs; Lutfie, editor of the "Volkan Tayar"; State Councillor Mustafa, Abdul's tobacconist Halif, and colonel of fusiliers Nadri Bevzi. The prisoners detained at Prinkipo (one of the Princes Islands, in the [ Sea of Marmora), comprising exMinisters and palace functionaries, have been removed to the War Office, preparatory to their deportation to a provincial fortress.
