CRICKET.
AUSTRALIANS v. OXFORD. Received May 26, 10.50 a.m. LONDON, May 25. Play in the match Australia v. Oxford University was resumed this morning, but alter the Oxford team had increased their score to 65 for three wickets, rain fell and delayed further play till ten minutes past four. The weather is still unsettled. When the match was resumed the wicket was soft, and there was a small attendance. Noble was absent, and Carter acted as his substitute. Salter and Evans carried the University, score to 47, when the first wicket fell. The batsmen were very careful. Evans batted for an hour, and Salter for 70 minutes. Leese played a fine, steady innings. When stumps were drawn six wickets were down for 118 runs. Scores: — AUSTRALIANS. First innings 247 OXFORD UNIVERSITY.—First Innings.
