EACINGr. WANGANUI RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, May 23. The Wanganui Jockey Club's winter meeting opened to-day. Heavy rain fell during part of the day. Wanganui Steeplechase—Mocassin 1, Tilson 2, Kiatep 3. All started.

The placed horses and Oryx and Ballance were the only starters to finish. Won comfortably by three lengths. Time, 6min 17sec. Electric Handicap—Waiata 1, Overtime 2, Purukau 3.
