On the match being resumed this morning the weather was fine and the wicket good. Saon after play began Foster gave an easy chance in the slips to Noble, who split his finger. Fane patted a soft one back to O'Connor. The century appeared in 115 minutes. Gillingham, who joined Tarrant, gave a sharp chance at the wickets when he had made 13. His partner skied to mid-off, where Armstrong was equal to the occasion. Armstrong disposed of Gillingham with a right handed hard catch off his own ball. Thompson, the newcomer, added a single, and then Armstrong bowled Relf.

Buckingham joined Thompson, and some lively play resulted. 43 being added in 35 minutes. Then Hartigan took a right-handed catch in the slips off Thompson. Eight for 178. Commencing carefully Tarrant and Huish soon "livened up, but keen fielding kept down the runs. The first wicket fell for 52, after 65 minutes' play, and the second at 57. Tarrant batted 150 minutes, playing a dogged game. He survived two appeals for leg before. He gave an easy chance to Whitty off Armstrong, when 46, and finished by playing O'Connor On. The century was hoisted after two hours' play. The third wicket fell for 115. Warner contented himself with steady cricket, marred by an easy chance, which Whitty missed, off O'Connor when the batsman was at 22. The others made a poor show. Marylebone won by three wickets.
