Speaking at the dinner tendered tojjche Australasian Presg delegates at Ottawa, on Wednesday, whereat Australian wines were served, Earl Grey (Governor-General) referred to the unanimity of both parties. Canada held herself in readiness to make sacrifices in order to maintain Britain's naval supremacy, while the Empire had become a solid unit on the question of defence. The patriotic spirit aniamting the great Continent of Australia had attracted much attention, and the Labour Ministry's action in the matter of military training proclaimed to the whole world that the honour of the Crown was as safe in the hands of [the humblest sons of the soil as in the hands of the grandest nobles in the land. (Cheers). The offer of gallant New Zealand, with a population of half the province of Ontario, had caused the blood of every Briton in all parts of tne world to pulse more buoyantly in the veins. (Cheers). Sir Wilfred Laurier, and Messrs Cunningham and Fenwick also spoke.
