WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. CARTERTON v. W.F.C.A. The Wairarapa Hockey Association's senior contest yesterday was between W.F.C.A. and Carterton, at the latter place. An exciting game resulted. Carterton, showing splendid combination, secured a win by 2 goals to nil. The winners' forwards were fast and tricky, while their backs were very safe, and repeatedly staved off determined rushes by the visitors. W. Fisher scored the two goals for the winners. Sievers and Fisher were the pick of the Carterton team, and Grange, Scrimgeour, and Hall showed up prominently for the losers. Mr Rosson was an impartial referee, and gave every, satisfaction.
