MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

- .MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Maeterton Hospital Trustees was held' yesterday morning, present, Messrs J. B. Keith, W. Fisher, J. C. Ewington, R. Brown, and H. J. O'Leary. The Mayor wrote stating that he had been instructed by the mayoress (Mrs P. L. Hollings) to hand over the sum of £4O 6s 6d, the amount subscribed by the public of Masterton 'for the Hope-Jacob3 bed ir< the Mas.terton HospitaJ. The Trustees acknowledged the amount with thanks. The Friendly Societies' Council secretary wrote to state that the sum of £2O 8s 4d. collected in connection with the recent Demonstration in aid of the Hospital had been banked to the credit of the Hospital. The also expressed their appreciation of the receipt of this sum, a Special vote of thanks being accorded to the Council for the efforts, to all those who assisted in the Demonstration, and to those who remitted their accounts in connection with the Demonstration. The hospital diary was read and showed that 17 patients were in the institution at last meeting, 20 had been a Knitted since, 19 bad .been discharge] (two dying), jleavdog 18 regaining. The father of an ex-patient wrote complaining of;the 'harsh treatment of the secretary ;in collecting an overdue account. The Trustee decided that there.were no grounds for complaint and that the writer had received leniency tin the matter. Mr Brnwn was appointed visiting member for the month. The Treasurer reported a credit balar.ee at last meeting of £655 8s 8d; receipts since, £222 8s 3d; disbursements, £212 12s; credit balance at date £665 4s lid; infectious diseases ward, receipts, £6 14s; disburse nents," £9 12s 6d; credit "'balance at,date, £73 18s 7d. Account's'amounting to 1 £ll9 lis <were passed for payment.
