Received May 16, 4.30 p.m. BRISBANE, May 16. Tihe champion sculling race yesterday resulted as follows: J. Towns (New South Wales) 1 Coverdale (Tasmania) 2 Dennis (Queensland) . 3 Won easily. Time, lfijmin. Seven-oared race: Tasmania 1, Victoria 2, New South Wales 3. This was a great race between the first two crews. The race was rowed in heavy rain. Queensland was first away, but Tasmania assumed the lead after a quarter of a mile, and rowing grandly led to the finish, winning by a bare length from Victoria. Time, 19min.
