ARMS FOR AFGHANS.
SENT ACROSS PERSIAN FRONTIER. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyrißut. Received May 13, 8.20 a.m. LONDON, May 12. A caravan cf forty camels, laden with contraband arms and ammunition for Afghanistan, is reported as having traversed the Seistan district.

Received May 13, 10.20 a.m. MELBOURNE, May 13._ With reference to the smuggling into Afghanistan of arms bearing Australian and New Zealand Government marks, the Minister for Defence (Senator Pearce) states that before selling old rifles, the barrels are bent and otherwise treated so as to render them ineffective for shooting purposes.
