PUBLIC ACCOUNTS PASSKD. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. May 13. The Prime Minister informed a representative of "The Press," this evening, that he had pleasure in stating that-the whole of the public accounts for the financial year 1908"9 had been passed by the Audit Department, and were to be returned to the Minister of Finance this evening. He added that again, -as was the case last year, .and the 1-year before, they were being returned any comment of any sort, and with io "tags." It was very gratifying to know that the whole of the year's extensive operations had parsed the ordeal of the Controller ;and Auditor-General's o*fice and had > been found without blemish.
