MASTERTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

WOOL-CLASSING CLASSES. The wool-classing classes in connection with the M-tsterton Technical School commenced last evening, uider the direction of Mr S. Wood. The Managers attended the opening of the class for the purpose of conferring with the instructor in regard to the equipment required. This, it is confidently expected, will be ready for the use of the classes next week. Eleven pupils presented themselves for enrolment, after which the coursa of instruction was proceeded with. The first part of the work consisted of instruction in the rolling and skirting of fleeces, following on which Mr Wood dealt fibre and its growth, and the composition }f wool. The lesson, which extended over two hours, was brought to a close with practical work on the part of the studentsjn'the classing of the different samples submitted. A morning session in connection with these classes will be held on Wednesday mornings, commencing to-morrow, from 9.30 o'clock to 11.30 o'clock, when it is hoped that those students who find it impossible fo take advantage of the evening classes ! will make an effort to attend, and I thus utilise the opportunity now I afforded of gaining a thorough knowI ledge of wool in its various aspects.
