WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd.. reort as follows regarding last Friday's sale:—We offered 30 bales wool, 4,700' skins, 520 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was the usual attendance of buyers and bidding was quiet. Wool.—Sold on a par with recent prices. We quote: Crossbred fleece. sdto6j.d; beat lambs, 7d to 7Jd; medium lambs, skl to 6| ; pieces and bellies, 2dto4d; locks, Hd to 2fd. Skins. —There was no change in the market. We quote: Fine crossbred?, Gel to 7d; crossbreds, 5d to 6?>d; dead skins. 3d to sd; dead hoggets, 3d to 4Ad; green pelts, 2s 6d to 3s Qd; lamb skins. 2s 6d, to 3s lid; lambs pells, Is to Is 9d. The good news from Lon- \ don regarding the opening of the London wool sales made itself felt at to-day's sale, when every lot was eagerly competed for at an advance of id to Ad per lb on last sales rates. Sheepskins were in good request for half and full-woolled, but rather lower for bare pelts and short -wools. Hides and calfskins sold at recent rates. Horsehair: To Is 2d per lb. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale of wool, skins and hides on i Friday last.
