WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd.. reort as follows regarding last Friday's sale:—We offered 30 bales wool, 4,700' skins, 520 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was the usual attendance of buyers and bidding was quiet. Wool.—Sold on a par with recent prices. We quote: Crossbred fleece. sdto6j.d; beat lambs, 7d to 7Jd; medium lambs, skl to 6| ; pieces and bellies, 2dto4d; locks, Hd to 2fd. Skins. —There was no change in the market. We quote: Fine crossbred?, Gel to 7d; crossbreds, 5d to 6?>d; dead skins. 3d to sd; dead hoggets, 3d to 4Ad; green pelts, 2s 6d to 3s Qd; lamb skins. 2s 6d, to 3s lid; lambs pells, Is to Is 9d. Tallow.—Firm. Parcels in shipping order, £24. Tins, .£lB to £2O 10s. Rough fat £lO to £ls. Horsehair —ls to Is 4d per lb. Horns. —5s to 16s per hundred. (_cr.vtails.--ls 3d to Is 6d per dozen. Hides. — We again brought forward a good catalogue, with calfskins in large demand; while ox and cow hides were firm at last sale's prices. We quote: Ox hides, heavy, Gi'd to 7Jd, medium, Gd to 7d, light, srt to Gd; cowhides, 5d to sifd; cut and slippy hides, 2d to sd; stag hides, 2kl to 4£d; bull hides, 2d to 4 : } d; calt, best, 7kl to Sgcl, medium, 5d to GJd. cut and slippy, 3d to Od. The good news from Lon- \ don regarding the opening of the London wool sales made itself felt at to-day's sale, when every lot was eagerly competed for at an advance of id to Ad per lb on last sales rates. Sheepskins were in good request for half and full-woolled, but rather lower for bare pelts and short -wools. Hides and calfskins sold at recent rates. We quote:—Wool: Crossbred, rough and bush-stained, 4kl to 52-d; crossbred, medium quality, Gd to 7d; lambs, Gd to Gk!; czutchings, seedy and inferior, 23-d to 3?sd, good. 4kltosd; locks and pieces, 2Jd to 4Jd. Sheepskins: Coarse and medium crossbred, f»Ad to 61d; lambs, 4kl to Gd; dead and faulty crossbred, 3d to l sd; good pelts, 3d to 4.td; damaged ! pelts, lfd to 2Jd; s.dted and green skins, sheep, 2-3 7d to,4s 4d, lambs, 2s 5d to 4?. Horsehair: To Is 2d per lb. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale of wool, skins and hides on i Friday last. They offered a large catalogue of all classes to a good attendance of buyers. The following gives an indication of prices realised : —Waol: In sympathy Home market, any "hange was in sellers' favour. Sheepskins: Prices were on a par with last sale, competition being good for salted lots.
