SUGAR SCANDALS.

SENSATION AT TOKIO. MANY ARRESTS MADE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received May 10, 10.40 p.m. TOKIO, May 10. A sensation has been caused by the exposure of sugar scandals at Tokio, and many arrests have been made. One sugar company spent 120,C00 yen in bribing fifty deputies to secure its nationalisation. It is improbable that the constitutional party, which controls the majority of the Diet, will rally from the blow. The public applaud the Government's energy in the matter, and believe that, the exposure will have a salutary effect in commercial circles.
