Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall on the Upper Tlain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. yesterday was four points.

Bates' geheral weather forecastsExpect strong westerly winds with' unsettled and cloudy weather everywhere; the westerly winds wich have moderated to-day and in the South Island have gone more to the south, will probably be back again to the northward, and strengthen with a further fall in the barometer after about ten hours.
