Two men, named Stokes and May, were found guilty of rioting dt Broken Hill, on January 9th last, and were sentenced to imprisonment —May to two years' hard labour, and Stokes to three years' hard labour, The jury had recommended the accused to mercy owing to the excitement prevailing at the time. Mr justice Pring, in sentencing the accused, said that the men at Broken Hill had been misled by Tom Mann, who they would some day find out was their worst enemy and lived.on keeping up strife. "The sooner you awake to the fact that this agitator, who lives upon your hard earnings, is ycur enemy the better for you," said the Justice. Holland, a Socialist, was found gui Sty of using seditious language at Broken Hill.
